Volume volume volume.
Grad school is about volume. It’s about quality AND quantity.
Meanwhile, my personal life is also about quality and quantity. As in, I have no time to spend with friends and loved ones, so even 5 minutes in passing counts.
I am finding it a little hard to really cope with not seeing Jonathan more regularly. My weekends belong to rehearsal, as does my Friday night. My Tues and Wed nights belong to class. My only entire day off is Monday (which is not a day off, but a “study day”). I certainly see Jonathan, but he has really picked up all household chores and work since I started school, which means when I study, he cleans, cooks, does laundry, prepares lunches, grocery shops. He does this so I can study more (which I do), but it results in us having even less time together. So I am seriously thinking of hiring a housekeeper for the two years of grad school. One less thing for him to do, but, of course, no guarantee I will have more time.
It’s a conundrum.
Just so you know, I wrote this at work.
